I am a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Phillip A. Sharp's laboratory at the Koch Institute, MIT. I completed my graduate training under Dr. John Lis at Cornell University.
My research focuses on understanding the role of non-coding regions of the genome in regulating gene expression in cancer and autoimmune diseases. I employ a range of tools from chemistry, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, and I also develop novel genomic methodologies to explore both coding and non-coding genomes.
Growing up in a small village near the picturesque city of Pokhara, Nepal, my journey into scientific inquiry is a dream I live every day made possible by the unwavering support of my family and mentors, and the catastrophic failure of a music career.
